What happens during Marathon Infinity...

I don't know whether this has been brought up recently (don't feel like skimming the entire archives to find anything like this), but aside from the obvious mission that you are trying to accomplish while on the Jjaro station, Vic/Yourself is going rampant, much like Durandal, Leela, and Tycho before him. The three stages of the game are Despair, Rage, and Envy, the stages of rampancy, and he changes sides, like Durandal before him, through the game. It is possible, since you are partially mechanical, and that doesn't limit the player to dying or degrading.

Another piece of evidence supporting this claim of the player going Rampant is the message that Tycho delivers, when he suspects that "you carry Durandal's primal pattern in that soggy little brain of yours." Remember, Durandal went rampant with that same pattern... so could it spread, or replace your own thoughts? He started placing a copy of himself in you since Marathon 2, when you saw his last terminal before you destroyed his core. After that, I guess he just made backups every time he communicated with you.
