: As soon as the player moves, they are beset by fighters. The colors are
: different than what we're used to - the ordinary fighters are light blue
: and the projectile fighters are grey, and they sport bright orange rather
: than blue crystals on their staffs.
One thing to keep in mind when playing PF is that unlike M1, the ordinary fighters are NOT berserkers. Fortunately, the projectile fighters continue to be.
: Off this is
: a maze that contains a 1X shield recharger, some ammo and some
: "friends".
I had the single Fighter within the maze get trapped at one of the T-junctions of the maze. He just sat there flickering, not moving. Hitting him once freed him. Could the narrowness of the maze cause this, or is this a function of the M1 engine?
: This leads to a large open area with some fresh reinforcements and
: a platform that will let us jump to the place we were told to go in the
: first terminal. There is another terminal here that contains what would
: appear to be a lot of gibberish and some diagnostics.
It should also be mentioned that there is a teleporter in the far back of this area that sends the player back to the overlooking ledge. That comes in handy if the player wants to save before leaving the level.
Overall, I thought the level was very appropriate for an opening level. It was not difficult at all, but certainly challenging enough on TC.
