Agreed. From a design standpoint, the AR-75 looks as though it's supposed to be fired from the hip. Seeing how operating it is described in the manual as wrestling a greased pig, it seems more prudent that this weapon was envisioned to be a short-ranged sweeping assault-rifle; perfect for more confined areas such as on a ship. This is obvious not only because of the 10 degree theta error but also because of the apparent lack of a long barrel. There is a sight on it, (at least the one in the manual has one) but it is small on not used in the game. Also, this weapon has a pistol-grip stock, making shooting from the hip or waist easier. There *is* a shoulder stock as well, but looking at the dimensions of the gun, it is too short to be effective, reason being that the trigger would be so close to the operator that firing would be awkward (elbow of shooting hand would be at too sharp and angle), especially with a high recoil (MA75B has same problem).
Contrast this with the KKV-7, which is most probably wielded at shoulder height and we make use of the necessary scope. You'll note that it has only a pistol grip for handling, though I'd attribute the lack of a shoulder stock to its low recoil, otherwise, there's no reason this weapon shouldn't have a shoulder stock, and there's no way you can shoot it as a pistol and hope to use the scope with the number of rounds it throws out.
When it's all said and done, I'd suppose you could use either weapon at the shoulder or hip, depending on the environment, enemies, and operator proficiency...
