In Response To: 10 Inventions You're Not Supposed To Know About (ukimalefu)

There's a slight difference between not believing the science or technology works, and being pessemistic over the effects of it on humans. . . (i hope that made some sort of sense).

Kinda like space. Noone knew what space would do to humans. Could they breath in zero g? Could they eat in zero g? Moon landing conspirators talk about how going above the Earth's protecctive "sheild" to reach the moon would've exposed the astronauts to intense radiation. As a result, they say it was all faked. (little do the chinese know . . . . all those billions of dollars of theirs . . wasted!)

Its like cell phones. We all know cell phones work. Now maybe fools would go "but talking into a cordless phone is silly, how could it work?" but that's not the point. The point is the effect on the cell phone on the user. *That's* harder to decern!

Could teleporters/repulicaters work? Sure, i'm not gonna be the one caught saying "it can't be done" for the thousandth time only to be proven wrong. I'm more interested, and gonna be more pessimistic, about its effects on the users.

"Warning: Prolonged Use of Replicators As Teleportation System Has Been Known to Cause Increased Sex Drive."

=) The Lord Kelvin's of the world will always been remembered for being the fools. But the pessemmistic scientists will not be!
