"The chosen few" who got the original keychain were those who had the time and money to buy Marathon way back in 1995, and then keep up with the catalogs and actually buy stuff in them faster than anyone else.
Those who got the new keychain would still be few, but they would be the ones with enough spare time and/or skewed enough priorities to keep up with the forum. Unless you brought them to a fanfest or something?
