Wolfenstein 3D Manual.

Weapons/Items

Knife: Go ahead. Pierce that Nazi in the chest. It's all about the stabbing with this weapon. The knife is of course, a melee weapon that, like the force from Star Wars, is always with you. As you would expect, because of its use as a melee weapon, the knife needs no ammunition. It's good for killing people up close, or for ammo preservation.

Pistol: The sidearm that makes you feel good. This gun is a handgun that fires bullets at a slow rate making it -aside from the knife- the worst weapon, but if you have a lot of experience with it, you can easily deal with even bosses with the pistol. You can deal with basic enemies and weakening and/or sniping at helpless and far away bosses.

Machine Gun: This is a more automatic version of the pistol, although you could still fall back to the pistol for certain situations to reduce risk of overdone ammo consumption. Aside from appearance, sound it makes and faster rate of fire, it is just the same as the pistol, and shares the same ammo.

Heavy Machine Gun: This is a modified version of the Machine Gun, making it more powerful and basically superior. However, the tradeoff is the fact that the HMG guzzles its ammo at considerable speed, so be careful.

Flame Thrower: Castle Wolfenstein could use a barbecue. The Flame Thrower projects fast-moving, devastating flames at your opponents. Quite useful.

Rocket Launcher: Something you'll always remember as, "the thing that brought me Hitler's head". The Rocket Launcher projects rockets that brings total havoc to any enemies near it.

Ammo Clip: Ammo clips, though not very filling for your weapon, are found nearly everywhere, and sometimes in clusters. The Ammo Clip has 5 bullets in it for your pistol, machine gun and chaingun.

Ammo Chest: Ammo Chests, though more rare than Ammo Clips, can be found in specific areas. Check storage rooms especially, you should manage to find these laying around: and sometimes in groups! 25 bullets for your p, mg and cg are included in Ammo Chests.

Gasoline: Gasoline is what fills your Flame Thrower to about 14 shots. Also often found in storage rooms.

Rocket Crate: Rocket Crates, also usually found in storage rooms, have 5 rockets to load into your rocket launcher.

Dog Food: Dog Food is actually, believe it or not, a health source. It is often found where Dogs are nearby. Go ahead, thank Iams my friends. Dog Food only heals a mere 4%, but it's still health, and can sometimes come in clusters. Sometimes it's good for using when you only have minor injuries and you want to save more effective healing sources for when you REALLY need them.

Meal: While those hounds were eating their dog food, one would say that the other Nazis also needed nourishment. All that delicious chicken in seasoning, those mashed potatoes and gravy, those organically grown green peas. I suppose i'd might as well cut that out, or people might get hungry. Meals are good health sources that increase your health by 10%, which does an okay deal, and does really well in clusters.

Medical Kit: Medical Kits are of course packs stored into Castle Wolfenstein for medical purposes when required. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the Medical Kit can prove very healing especially when clustered, due to its 25% effectiveness in healing. Very useful.

Extra Life/Health Recharge, I like to call it the WolfenHelper: The WolfenHelper is one useful item to collect, so keep your eyes peeled for any you may find. WolfenHelpers refill your health to 100% AND give you an extra life.

Blue Key: Blue Keys are simply keys that can be picked up and used on locked doors that correspond to the locked blue doors.

Gold Key: See Blue Keys, except used on locked gold doors.

Treasure: Crosses, goblets, chests and crowns: These are the consistencies of the treasure kept by the Nazis. Collect them to gain bonus and/or an extra life if you collect 50 pieces.

Enemies

Dogs/Hounds: These are well-trained German Shepherds, the Nazi hounds that are meant to rush their opponents. Fast and annoying, though Dogs usually can't tolerate so much as a pistol shot or a couple knife stabs, they are quite deadly up close, and sometimes Dogs are found in multiples. Also keep in mind that Dogs often accompany other Nazi units, so where there are Dogs, bear in mind there might be other perils. When killed, you don't get diddly squat. Basically they are as dangerous as the guards, with combat skill trade-offs.

Strong Suit: Being deadly up close.

Castle Wolfenstein's Nazis often needed hounds, German shepherds to accompany Nazis, for tactical purposes when dealing with intruders or violators.

Guards: Guards are the most common opponents. They attack by simply standing and then firing their pistols. They are slightly tougher than Dogs, though not as fast and aggressive. However, they can fire at you from a distance unlike Dogs, and since they are most common, can summon in groups, giving them an advantage to surround you and then fire at you.

Strong Suit: Coming in vast numbers and surrounding you, overwhelming your position and firing.

Castle Wolfenstein would need some assurance of security and maintenance. So guards were hired and spread out.

S.Ss: The S.S.s are Nazi infantry soldiers, who are not all that fast and aggressive, but when they fire their machine guns they can be somewhat deadly, although if you're good enough you aren't likely to worry about them managing to shoot you. However, be careful of them, because they are the toughest opponents around, though a little slow-moving.

Strong Suit: Taking a lot of damage before going down.

Possibly due to news of BJ's presence being of great danger, infantry had also been scattered throughout Wolfenstein to assist.

Officers: Officers are of course, Nazi commanding officers that carry pistols. They are as tough as Guards, but are faster and more aggressive, however much less common. They of course aren't as tough as S.S. but are quite deadly in some situations.

Strong Suit: Being the fastest-moving opponent.

An army or specific division always needs some sort of normal command. Officers commanded and fought with plenty of loyalty to last their lifetime (unless they get killed first).

Mutants: Mutants are strange, twisted creatures that bleed purple blood and have a gun in their chest, which they fire by performing some bizarre disco-dance type gesture. They move fast, though not as fast as officers, and are very aggressive.

Strong Suit: Being the most aggressive opponent.

Strange, twisted results of the work of Dr. Schabbs, the Mutants were made to make dramatic increasements in the odds of victory for the Nazis.
