: John, I seem to recall you posting just a few days ago on how you kept
: encouraging Sidoh to keep trying with Sodding the Logs - a similarly
: difficult level. I just got done vidding Schmackle on Kindergarten to
: prove a point - I know Kindergarten is not nearly the same as TC, but it
: does allow one to try out strategy. Although hellatiously difficult, it is
: possible to clear out all the monsters in that large open room without
: using weapons. The big challenge is that you will constantly be dodged by
: guided cyborg grenades, but these will eventually take out all the
: monsters and you need then only make a quick jog around the naearest sharp
: corner to escape whatever's left over. There is a drone in the ensuing
: passage that must also be dealt with, but that's easy, leaving nothing in
: your way to deal with except that remaining mystic, which is easily taken
: out with the Pfhor staff. I know it must be much worse on TC, but it
: should be doable if you'll keep at it ;^)

Thanks for the encouragement Steve. :) I might give it another try one day. But my vidding of levels has sorta taken a back seat to other things right now. The strategy you describe I have tried several times. What is so annoying is that it takes so frigging long on TC just to get to that particular room. 1x shield just seems to whittle away so fast when get one of those Cyborgs with guided grenades gets on your tail. Seems to me that each time i would get to that Mystic blocking the way, something would ALWAYS appear behind me to do me in before i could defeat the Mystic. Finally you just get so tired of trying. I am sure that is what Sidoh went through. Ah well, there's more to life than vidding levels. :)

Speaking of vidding levels, I would like to take the opportunity to encourage you to try vidding a scenario Steve. I get the strong impression that your skills have developed to the point that vidding something is definitely within your reach. Might I offer a suggestion? Since you are planning a strategy guide for Pfh' Joueur, that would be the perfect time to try vidding it. It's probably the easiest of the major scenarios. There are a couple of levels that will give you a run for your money, but I'd love to see you give it a try. If you think just playing Marathon is addictive, wait till you start vidding a scenario. It will CONSUME your time. How well I know. And of course, our profession makes it that much easier to find the time. :)
