In Response To: Re: Marathon 2004 (Wejam The Carter)

: Maybe instead of remaking marathon (come on people, if it ain't broke don't
: fix it) Bungie could re release all three games plus PID and any others
: not sold in the microsoft merger, on a single disk for XBOX. This way a
: whole new audience could be exposed to the Marathon Phenomenon and breath
: new life into the series.

Firstly, porting the existing games to the XBOX would not be a trivial matter. At minimum the game engines would have to be completely rewritten to run on the XBOX - perhaps the AO SDL version would work, but there would likely have to be some significant tweaking. Secondly, standard definition TV is no match for the modern computer display. That's undoubtedly one of the reasons the Halo port to the Mac is so damn slow - the resolution is, what, 4 times greater or more? M1A1 already beats anything you could get on an XBOX.
