That's a point that I was pondering on while playing the game today. As everyone knows, both Cortana and 343 Guilty Spark say that activating Halo's defenses and destroying the food (sentient life) would kill the Flood. So, if Halo had been activated before, and Flood members survived that activation, what or who is the contradicting factor here? Did 343 GS purposely save a few Flood members ("I am grateful to see that some of them survived to reproduce.") for his own knowledge? Or did Bungie maybe just forget a few details? ;) Another question: if activating Halo doesn't kill the Flood completely, then why does 343 GS take MC, or Reclaimer as he mysteriously calls him, through the whole Library level to retrieve the Index? 343 GS would know that Installation 04's defenses don't always work 100% of the time. There has been speculation, perhaps it's been proven I'm not sure, that the other Installations were supposed to be activated after Installation 04 but weren't. Could that be the deciding factor in the elimination of the Flood? So many questions!! =) | |
