(Simpsons Rule) : In FoR on page 232, it says that in addition to letting Dr. Halsley go : through with project MJOLNIR, ONI stepped up funding for intel and : reconassiance missions. Small stealth ships were going to be deployed and : search remote systems where the Covenant were based. One of these ships : could've found the Covenant homeworld... Three things. 1: What if the Covenant are using some planet merely as an operational theater? That isn't entirely impossible, as we have used parts of the world as operational theaters. Couldn't the Covenant have just a base from which they strike? And after the invasion is done, assuming they win, just incorporate that planet as part of their empire? 2: It seems like the covenant aren't from a close part of our galaxy to us. What if they are from the other side of the galaxy? Those stealth ships are going to need a lot of batteries and a lot of fuel. 3: Assuming they find the homeworld, what if they find more forces being prepared. I don't think the Covenant would leave their home unprotected, so they might leave some sort of defensive fleet as well. Now that I've said all that, how the *&^% are the ships going to get out if they're discovered?
