They could have him, but remember that while james is floating to his frozen death the PoA is already on its way to Halo with pretty much the entire Covenant fleet on their tails, matter of fact they beat the PoA to halo........or where they already there and the MC and crew just happend to show up? hmmmmmm

But i dont think the covies on halo are the same covies that could have picked up james.
