Regardless of the feasibility of this idea, I wouldn't buy it. Special edition games are a bizarre waste of cash for people who have played the original-- unless they're rebuilding the entire graphics engine or something, and/or it costs like $10. I have never purchased a Gold/Director's/Special edition of any game I already played, and I never will; and I suspect a lot of people are in the same boat as me. Now, if I'd never played or owned Halo before, it might be a different story.
