I find this really intriguing. I suppose it makes sense (it's easier than tying the info to the weapon itself, since you want to be able to vary it map to map)... but I'd have guessed that it was tied to a combination of the map AND the weapon, not simply the location.

Dunno. It's not like you save anything doing it this way - you actually have to keep track of MORE information! (One value for every weapons location on the map, rather than one value per weapon type.) OTOH, I guess it gives you the flexibility to allow faster respawns for some weapons in out-of-the-way locations, while keeping, say, a sniper rifle right on the roof of a base from regenerating too quickly. ;)

I think this is actually varied based on what's out there. Add 10 more players to your game, and I bet you find that the time they hang around is MUCH shorter. :)
