In Response To: My Covenant Theory (Ryan) (The Majin) Heres some ideas I have. Tying into Marathon (and waaaay back to PiD) What if the orrigional creators of Halo were the Jjaro, and after some incredibly devastating war (possibly with their creations the Flood) They either isolated themselves from the universe to either perpetuate their species, or were wiped out. Afterwards one of their creations the Forerunners (name unknown at this point) repeat what the Covenent did and relased the Flood, so in order to save the universe from being one big-ass salad bar they use the weapons. The Covenent who at the time belived that they could contain the Flood fought back but in the end lost and all life in the universe was wiped out. Through dumb luck the species (Covenant) mananged to survive (I'm guessing the creators of Halo had protective shields, or stasis chambers to protect them from the effects of the blast) by hiding their top minds in these tubes (religious, warriors, thinkers, scientists the whole ark concept which would tie into the bible as well) along with gentic samples of their homeworlds flora and fauna to rebuild their species. So lets say that the covenant seeing their impending doom, and wanting to make sure that some life manages to survive starts asking the Jjaros other creations if they wish to live on as well, so they add more genetic material to the gene pool. Which would support why there are so many client races in the Covenant army...of course it could be bungies wish to remake marathon with enhanced graphics so Im not complaining there!! Sorry if this is a bit long winded | |
