The conclusion that some species of the covenant are Forerunner does not follow from your two premises (reasons) -- 1) the fact that human scientists studied the types of Covenant and 2) concluded that they are different races allied together. There's something missing in your argument because as it stands it makes no sense whatsoever. It doesn't make sense as it stands because the the premise(s) that would at least make your argument formally valid would be -- separate races allied together means Forerunner are one of those species And/or if a species is studied by scientist that makes it Forerunner. I don't think these are your unstated reasons but they are the only ones that can be inferred to be operative as your argument stands.
