Since there is more than one halo we can assume that they were built with the intention of erasing all life. SO halo would overlap each other and get every inch of space. Just like errosion, halo would essentially destroy everything although some life would stay and definitley smaller life on planets. although the forerunner might not survive, their evolutionary 'mokey' in a sense might and the chain of evolution might start up again to produce the new forerunner. : You may say, "the pulse might destroy technology."
