In Response To: Re: Theory about Halo *SP* (FrogBlast)

: I am so lazy that I am just going to respond from memory, but i thought i
: just killed stuff according to biomass... and I don't think the criterion
: are clearly defined as to what will "sustain" the flood.... they
: could eat algae when things get tough for all I know...

: I was under the impression that it didn't just kill sentient life, or atleast
: that was not made clear.

I want to follow up, sorry if this overlaps your response.

: 343 Guilty Spark: "-Which means that any organism with sufficient mass
: and cognitive capability is a potential vector."

they don't clearly state "sentient" life here, and give no real criterion. ALso, vector might not = food/ sustaining biomass.

: Cortana: "You have no idea how this ring works, do you? Why the
: Forerunners built it? Halo doesn't kill Flood, it kills their food.
: Humans, Covenant, whatever. We're all equally edible. The only way to stop
: the Flood is to starve them to death. And that's exactly what Halo is
: designed to do, wipe the galaxy clean of all sentient life. You don't
: believe me? Ask him."

You know what... I actually think this quote is saying "flood food is sentient life." so I think this supports your argument rather nicely...

: 343 Guilty Spark: "More or less. Technically, this instillation's pulse
: has a maximum effective radius of 25,000 light-years. But once the others
: follow suit, this galaxy will be quite devoid of life...Or at least any
: life with sufficient biomass to sustain the Flood. But you already knew
: that...I mean...How couldn't you?"

Ok, sentient life isn't mentioned here, but it is mentioned above...

SO

This thing could wipe out all life and meet the criterion:

It has destroyed sufficient biomass
It has destroyed sentient life....

that is the point I was trying to make, got a little confused, sorry. forget my recent post, I was responding from my poor memory:)
