Pulse overlap . . . | |

In Response To: Re: Suggestion: Think in terms of 50,000 (Louis Wu) : Okay, you've stretched across it... : Now what are you gonna fill the REST of the space with? : (Our galaxy isn't a cylinder...) It would obviously require other Halos to fill in the gaps and there would be some pulse overlap. Hopefully, and probably, the Forerunners designed the locations of all the Halos to have minimum overlap as possible thus increasing the overall pulse range of the rings while making certain it destroys all sentient life in the galaxy. BUT, now that I have thought about it enough, it WOULD make sense to overlap the pulse of all the Halos to the maximum extent so that each ring only has a range of 25,000 light years. This is the only way to fill in ALL of the gaps because like you said, our galaxy isn't a cylinder. Up, down, left, right, forward, and backward. It's 3D, and there's a hell of a lot of it in just one galaxy. Well, that's about enough out of me. I don't need to be teaching physics or relativity here, but it's fun to talk about! -Surr
