That's actually a very interesting idea. Just get somebody strategically- instead of tactically-minded, give them a sniper rifle (and a rocket launcher... heh), and send them up to function as observers, reconnaissance, and field commanders. Sort of spyplane/AWACS/Captain hybrids. And, of course, they can lend some close-air support when the going gets tough :)

I must try this. There are serious possibilities for real strategy.
