In Response To: Single player and Spartan Ops... (Bryan Newman) : A few of the single player questions that were left somewhat unanswered have : been answered in Spartan Ops. For example you asked who got hit by the : composer. It was the entire city of New Phoenix Arizona. Halsey obviously : has a larger role in Sp Ops. We still have 5 more episodes of Sp Ops left : this season to tie some things up. I sort of consider Halo 4 single player : and Sp Ops to be a part of the same package. Spartan Ops finally made me realize what in particular got blasted, but by this point I was removed from that part of H4's story, and even then the emotional impact and realization of just where and what was blasted was never felt. There's an overall emotional detachment to the entire situation, even within Spartan Ops. But again, within the context of H4's campaign itself, as the Composer blasts Earth and even immediately after, we have no idea where it's hitting in terms of population, how densely populated (after all, after H3 humanity's at all of 300,000,000 people total, right?), is he aiming at that place in particular or just blasting wherever on Earth? Too detached, nothing personal, no real reason to care beyond, "Oh my gosh, that's Earth!" And for all I know he just blasted nothing but mountains or desert with hardly any or no population. Obviously New Phoenix is anything but unpopulated, but I need to go into Spartan Ops to find this out. While I'm enjoying Spartan Ops quite a bit, and am absolutely intrigued by its story (and even stated that at this point it looks like it's going to be superior to H4's story), I shouldn't need Spartan Ops to find a reason to care or understand about what happened at the end of H4. This ties back into my stating that H4's campaign as a whole had no urgency to it. Earth possibly gonna get blasted? Never felt like there was a lot of urgency to stop it. Earth getting blasted? No urgency to stop it because it's out of our hands. Literally. Have Cortana wrangle the bad guy so that we can quick time event ending it. Never did anything myself.
