In Response To: Re: My H4 review - Multiplayer (pete_the_duck) : As far as game types go, when you directly transition over from Halo: Reach's : Forge that saw the addition of unique and powerful game types Speedflag : and Halo Ball to the infancy of Halo 4, it's a bit jarring. I'll stick : with my original impression of Forge in Halo 4--it is very focused. But : I'm being optimistic that 343 Industries, over the next year, will add new : game types to Halo 4 like One Flag, Race, Infection, etc. Game types : should be the easiest addition to Halo 4--easier than maps, TU, etc. And : everything I've heard from 343 Industries makes it sound like they're : interested in keeping the experience fresh with new additions over time, : whether it's rotating playlists or the eventual incorporation of community : maps in matchmaking. And I see game types fitting in nicely with those : plans. Time will tell. It's really up to them. I'm kind of doubting we get any huge additions like Reach got later on through Action Sack. The odd handling of the basic playlists with major stuff coming and going just to "keep things fresh" every week, along with such basic stuff (normal Assault, One Flag?, Infection options) being excluded do not give me much hope. Hell, Reach came out of the gate with new and fringe stuff added, all we really got with 4 was Dominion and Extraction, one of which has basically been ignored and even used to advertise the first map pack as though it wasn't on disc. I also don't really think 343 is all that into the less straight-forward gametypes beyond Grifball. Reach's Action Sack was removed with their final playlist update, and look at how many options Infection lost for the sake of fancy, unneccessary character models. I think modders would have found some of this stuff on disc by now if it was really being held back, though I don't know if 343 still has the option to add in new options like Reach had.
