I understood what was occurring in front of me (most of the time) - I just didn't understand why it was always happening, especially with the Librarian, Didact, and Sangheili motivations and allegiances. Telling me they are working for or against each other is one thing, while making me understand why they are doing so is another. Since I wasn't able to grasp many of those important nuances, many of the emotional impacts just didn't hit for me.
