In the first, he argues that the short time available to produce daily soaps is a large part of their lack of quality, and that the longer time available to produce other shows accounts in part for their superior quality. He goes on to apply this to Spartan Ops.

Then someone told him that Spartan Ops will not be produced weekly, just released that way.

So in the second post, Cody countered that there is no reason to release them weekly.

:Then there doesn't seem to be any reason to release it weekly does there?[...]If you have all the :content done in time for release, why not make it ONE dlc pack?[...]it's arbitrary and the decision is :not being made in terms of what's best for players.

He makes two points here:

1. There is no reason to release them weekly.

2. Since there is no reason to release them weekly, players are hurt by having to wait for no reason.

The first point is incorrect for the reasons explained in my first post; there are monetary incentives for 343 to do what they're doing. The second point's conclusion is probably correct.

In short, while Cody may be right that the weekly format was not chosen in terms of what's best for players, he claimed that there was no reason at all for choosing it, and I think it's important to establish that 343 does have a reason for doing so.

By the way, I now realize that what I said right below mis-stated what Cody said.

In the first post, he didn't say that the weekly format was chosen because of the products lack of quality, but instead that a lack of quality would result from the format.
