You can use a flash drive for storage - if you don't have one, you can buy one that's large enough for under $10. (I see people giving them away regularly, for various promotions; if I were really broke, or really opposed on principle to paying one extra cent for this content, I could certainly find one - or more than one - that didn't actually cost me anything.)

And if you really have an aversion to paying for XBL, and can't figure out how to scrounge a free 2-day code, you can simply wait until one of the Free Weekends comes around (after all 50 eps are released, of course).

In other words, with a bit of ingenuity (and time/work), you can get everything you need to play this new content for absolutely nothing.

They're aiming their product at an online market; most of the requirements are already met by most of this demographic. You're outside the demographic - maybe this game isn't for you.
