I don't think it's really necessary to have that video in any situation. I know that some people would like it, I know it works in other games, and I know that it's included in fiction outside of the game. I just don't understand why it needs to be there, why it needs to clutter the space more. It's one of the things that just doesn't need to be changed, and is taking away what I feel like has been one of the elements of Halo (although it is, admittedly , a very small one). We've always had Cortana as a voice in our head and everyone else as a radio transmission.
