In Response To: Re: High resolution version of LE cover (Archilen) : It looks more like a commercial logo; maybe one for a clothing brand, rather : than the logo for an overbearing, authoritarian military organization, all : the way down to the font they used. The original was clean, simple and : very defined, and now they've filled it with all kinds of unnecessary : clutter. They don't apparently know that the most effective logos are the : simple ones. Hard to imagine what they would've done with the Marathon : logo. Aesthetically, its great looking. But I'd have to agree with you just a bit on the heraldry aspect of it. It looks a bit "corporation-y" with the stylized UNSC (including that damn star); the shield looks a bit too sci-fi-y for my tastes as well and throws off the fact that this was created by a heraldic society to represent the warriors of Earth and her colonies. But the rest of it does look like something you'd see as the cap badge of any soldier, sailor, airman, or Marine. The small little details are really nice as well!
