There are benefits to both a wider FOV and a closer FOV, and : I'm not sure if there's a right answer. Might just have to leave it up to : player preference. Normally I'd say that on the PC market it's almost always best to let the player choose; most locked arrangements that choose particular FoV's for particular aspect ratios leave some people feeling ripped off, and the PC market contains people who like 70 and people who like 130. But it sounds like you guys might be going for a sort of realism with, perhaps, stuff like in-universe helmet rendering that might not look aesthetically pleasing with varying FoV's. If you do need to lock it, make sure the FoV is high enough that PC players won't rip your head off for making something that's "like playing a bad console port." Otherwise, I'd think it would be best to let the player choose.
