Impressions of the anime are a major factor, though I wouldn't be shocked if there's actual preference toward the original tracks as well. "Rerecorded and remastered for improved sound clarity" is a phrase that hides the fact that the new tracks just about always carry significant stylistic differences as well (whether intended or intrinsic to the process), and people obviously love Marty's renditions.
Similarly, plenty of people say they prefer the classic tracks in CEA, and it was also marketted as a sort of "the same but better" thing.
