In Response To: Preventing an Uprising - BTF#10 (Dani)
From what I understand, Uprising fell behind because Bungie made some late changes to the story and the comic writer, Bendis, is a big shot at Marvel with a very full schedule. Once rewrites were necessary, he didn't have time. Whoever was in charge of the comic should have used someone who wasn't as big a name. The Fall of Reach comic is a different story, as it wasn't a new story or anything so it didn't matter if it came out before the game. I'm sure they didn't plan on that happening either based on how long it is.
I'd say the current Bear and Traviss trilogies are releasing as is to avoid spoilers of Halo 4. Crytum and Primordium have both given us a ton of info, with Primordium's ending presumably leading to a plot point in the new game trilogy.
I'm not as sure about Traviss' though. While Glasslands does give us a good amount of detail about what's happening back home while John's away, it kind of feels like a lot was shoved in just so big details don't have to be explained in game. This would be fine, the series has done that for a while, but the barely there handwaving of so many big things is disappointing, on top of the unsatisfactory way it wraps up the Onyx story. Really, it seems like this trilogy should probably be the more important of the two since it's not 100,000 before the story, but it really didn't seem like it to me.
