| Gotta think about the future | |

In Response To: Preventing an Uprising - BTF#10 (Dani) I don't think it will so much be a case of "Uprising" as it will be intentionally leaving some breathing room to advance the story between Halo 4 and Halo 5. I'm guessing that Bear's next book will be similar to how Dervish described Contact Harvest; clearing up (or at least elaborating on) some of the mysteries and plot threads that Halo 4 pulled from Cryptum/Primordium while establishing something new to be explored in Halo 5. Meanwhile, The Thursday War sounds like it might be a "First Strike" to segway into Halo 4, while I'm betting the next Kilo-Five book will take place after Halo 4, thus being the intermediary between 4 and 5. All conjecture of course, but if it's true then I'm really liking 343's approach to connecting the games/EU. To be perfectly honest, I am a story hog, and I tend to enjoy reading about the exploits of the characters/factions of the Halo universe a lot more then I enjoy playing through them from the viewpoint of a single character. That's part of why Halo 2 remains my favorite of the entire series - multiple perspectives on galaxy-changing events. The games, to me, are ancillary (but pleasurable!) by-products of a universe which can only properly be expressed in written word. I'm weird, nyet?. :(
