In Response To: Who's the writer for Halo 4? (Archilen) : I've been wondering this for a while. Usually they don't announce the writers : in advance, but it's still going to be interesting to see whether it's : someone previously familiar with the universe or someone completely new. My impression was that the writing for Halo 4 is a collective effort of a bunch of different people. Like how they talked about Greg Bear getting a look at the game, and it seemed like he's sort of directing the Forerunner aspects of the game. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe there is just one or two big writers on the game. : Now that Staten is out of the question, the next best thing to me would be
I'm probably gonna get shit for this and the next thing I'm going to say, but I don't actually really like Nylund's Halo novels. Sure, they're the originals, and there's good parts in there, but there's something about them that just don't do it for me. Like Cole Protocol- I could actually picture it taking place in the Halo Universe. It didn't really take any risks, and the story didn't really lead into anything important, but I still liked it. : Whoever it is, I sure hope it's not Karen Traviss. If this was the case, I
Again, probably gonna get flak for this, but I thought Glasslands was probably the best piece of Halo fiction to date. There were some annoying parts with Halsey (Traviss overdid the war-criminal thing), and the book can be pretty slow, but I loved the characters.
