In Response To: Re: Still a lot of unanswered questions. (Louis Wu) : Wow,you UTTERLY misunderstood what I was saying - or I said it really badly. You said, and I quote, "If it were me working for 343, I'd see this post, and my eyes would glaze over halfway through "Question 1", and I'd just click the next post," and that no "regular person" would even bother with reading, much less answering, my questions (which I did manage to simplify in my last post; "12 questions" is a technicality). I interpreted that as just another example of the "TL;DR" mindset, but I guess I misconstrued your post. : No, it doesn't take long to read those questions. : I was saying that if it were ME those questions were being asked OF, I'd move
But I'm not the only one that wants to know how this system works. There's a ton of people who would like some clarification regarding Spartan Points and loadouts. The community would be worth one guy at 343I who knows the answers to take an hour to explain things (though I doubt it'd take even that long). : You act like writing a couple of paragraphs is really all that's being asked
They were able to explain weapon drops and Forerunner vision in very short order. I imagine it wouldn't take any more than a few minutes, not an hour as you say, to say "Here's how you earn SP, here's how much you earn for [insert one or two common activities], here's a couple of things that are locked, here's how much they might cost, and there will/won't be playlists with classic Halo balancing." While it'd be nice, I wouldn't expect a highly detailed breakdown showing every weapon and ability that's locked and how much they cost, how much SP you earn for every specific activity that gives them to you, etc. They'd probably want to keep at least some of this secret, (plus things could change before the game goes gold). Just some generalized clarification would suffice. A couple of yeses or nos, a couple of ballpark figures, a couple of weapons and/or abilities named. They could easily do so in the next Sparkcast or the next Bulletin, with tons of time/space to spare for talking/writing about other stuff. And my rant about our "ADD-addled society" was to express frustration at the fact that anything longer than a Twitter post is seemingly worthy of a "TL;DR" reaction from a great many people. As someone who reads and : Seriously. I've done email interviews shorter than your 12 questions, and
What kind of questions were they asking you? Depending on the content and nature of the question the answers can take longer. Asking someone at 343I how much SP the BR will cost and what rank I need to be to unlock it is not as involved as, say, asking them to describe in detail all the coding and whatnot that goes into the Warthog's handling, physics, etc.
