In Response To: Re: Still a lot of unanswered questions. (Louis Wu) : I love how you've numbered those 1-4 - but there are actually 12 questions : shown. :) Well, four categories of closely-related questions. : (If it were me working for 343, I'd see this post, and my eyes would glaze
I realize we live in the era of Twitter and Go-gurt, where "TL;DR" isn't just a saying but a way of life, but do people really have as big of a deficit of either attention or spare time that it is often implied we have? Maybe it's just me, but I honestly don't get it when someone looks at something as paltry as what I wrote in my previous post and reacts as if it were the size of War and Peace. It only took me a minute to read those questions, and 60 seconds is not a ton of time. It takes as long or longer to do even simple tasks like, say, walking to the kitchen and pouring one's self a glass of soda. Typing out a reply to those questions would take longer, but only a few minutes, depending on one's typing speed (your reply probably took you longer to type than it would have to read my whole post, that is unless your WPM is crazy high). Someone at 343I explaining Spartan Points might only take them a couple of paragraphs, while the weekly Halo Bulletin can run over 20 paragraphs. Alternately, a few minutes out of the typical 40-minute Sparkcast could be used to explain how SP are unlocked, how many SP things cost, etc. If I were working for 343I and I saw someone ask those question, I would provide the answers if I had them. Of course, that's what I do. I like answering questions on subjects that interest me or are relevant to my occupation (I'll often go out of my way to find answers to questions people ask me) and reading things longer than 140 characters and cooking my own meals instead of eating fast food and instant stuff. Maybe I'm just an outlier who doesn't value his time as much as the average person (and "average" is often the last thing I ever get accused of being; lately I've had friends and family jokingly compare me to Sheldon Cooper). In any case, if someone cares enough to answer a question (and I'm sure there's been countless others who have asked these same questions — though probably in not as many words — regarding Spartan Points over the past month and a half), they will do so. I'm sure 343I will answer these questions sooner or later, but November 6 is almost seven months away, and while that's plenty of time to explain everything, the sooner they answer these questions the sooner all the wailing and gnashing of teeth will subside and people can properly assess these features. It has been some six or seven weeks since the Spring Showcase and the first mention of this new system. Oh, and while my previous post is simply me doing what I normally do and typing whatever happens to pop in my head (which is rarely anything suitable for conveying via tweeting or texting due to my tendency to elaborate on specifics), let's see if I can't simplify my questions: 1) How and in what game modes are Spartan Points unlocked? Less specific than I'd like, but it takes half as long to read.
