They : care about it. Right, and I'm sure they'll try their best. But fans are incredibly diverse in what they value most in Halo, where they want to see it go. : It could always be worse my friend, it's not like George : Lucas and Michael Bay are making the next Halo. Heh, those guys always get so much flak, but TBH I enjoy and own both Star Wars trilogies. I've watched the first two Transformers and enjoyed them. I enjoyed both Bad Boys movies too. : BUT, seeing their work on the motion comics and evolutions, I'm : confident in their ability. In their ability... to produce motion comics and short stories? Ask me to do a guide for an achievement: I think I could do a pretty good one. Ask me to do a montage, and I don't think I'd be nearly as good and would struggle quite a lot! : Yes. I admit it. I'm going to buy Halo 4 no matter what Fanboy :P : So there is a hint of doubt there I see? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm Yes of course. I think a healthy amount of doubt is essential. It's a philosophical stance :P : Still, that doesn't make me want to buy it flat out. What if its an RPG? I : have NO interest in RPG's. 343i are turning Halo into more of an RPG with grinding out levels to unlock weapons to customise your loaduts with, btw. Basically only the weakest part of RPGs! Before Halo, I had relatively little interest in shooters. I'd played goldeneye, did ok. Played Turok, sucked at it. Played a bit of Unreal Tournament briefly. But what Halo did to the shooter genre was really a game-changer and now most of the games I play are shooters. I'm not saying that Bungie's next game is going to be an RPG and is going to revolutionise the genre, but I'm saying writing off an entire genre seems silly. : Let's say Halo is a Pizza. With 343, I know that I'm still getting a Pizza. : It may have some different toppings that I don't like (and can hopefully : pick off) BUT ITS STILL PIZZA. : With Bungie, I don't know that I'm getting Pizza, I could be getting : _____(insert food you don't like). : Lol keeping in line with the foodz analogy, it doesn't matter so long as they : don't change the core ingredients. Families pass down recipes all the time : and a pie made by someones mother tastes just like it was made when HER : mom made it. But, getting away from food, Halo 4 is NOT going to be just : like Bungies game, they may be using the same basic ingredients, but they : ARE tweaking the formula. Yeah but equally 343i's changes to the recipe of the special sauce could end up ruining it. Why have you added OLIVES! I HATE OLIVES!! ALL I CAN TASTE NOW IS THE OLIVES!! : You see more in line with following the Studio, the Author. You will follow : anything they put out because THEY put it out. : I'm more in line with following the product, the franchise. I follow the : BRAND and I don't care who puts it out there. True. Off the top of my head, the only time I can recall that I've followed the brand without regard to who made it was with KotoR II - it was ok, but it wasn't anything compared to KotoR 1 made by Bioware. I would have thought your experience with Metroid would make you more wary about just following brands :P
