In games, it isn't "show, don't tell" - it's "do, don't show." Gameplay over cutscenes.

Anyway, in response to the bulk of your post: gaming magazines have never been particularly good sources of information. I remember reading articles about the very first Halo game, back in the day, and being excited by all the pretty screenshots but not really getting anything out of the words on the page.

Yeah, it'll be nice when they start releasing more information, but until they do . . . their magazine interviews will always suck. It's not 343, it's the magazine. Doesn't matter if it's the first reveal or two days before launch.
