In Response To: Re: And herein lies MLG's downfall.... (Schooly D) : Yes : Hahahahahahaha. Oh God my balls . Ok I'll give you that execution in Halo is comparable. It certainly beats out Starcraft 2, but the level of execution required of Brood War vs Halo is at least debateable. : Like Cody said, this is the main reason. Same thing with fighting games. : What. Counter Strike's spectator mode suffers from the same problems all
I was getting at Halo's total lack; yeah. : Brood War was always dead everywhere but Korea. Sorry, but no. This reeks of a reddit/sc2 perspective. There was most definitely a lively foreigner scene. Obviously nothing on the level that exists for SC2 today, but upwards of ten thousand players active on ICCUP on any given day attested to a strong scene. It didn't have anything on the level of dedicated tournaments like MLG, but it was consistently a WCG competitive game, had many many online tournaments and was lively enough. But I certainly wouldn't say it's dying. It'll be interesting to see what happens if in fact they do make the current Proleague half and half. : Starcraft 2 is currently getting its shit pushed in (in terms of
LoL and Dota2 are definitely pushing in. LoL co-exists, and Dota 2 is pushing in on the back of more money being thrown at it (i.e. Valve's million dollar tourney) My tune won't necessarily be different, it'll just include the part I haven't been talking about here:
