In Response To: Re: And herein lies MLG's downfall.... (Phoenix_9286) : I still don't get this argument. At all. If it isn't suited to competitive : play, why are they trying to use it for competitive play? That does not : compute to me. It's like someone complaining their Honda Accord isn't a : very good Chevy Silverado, so they mangle a bed onto the back of their : Accord, and then continue to complain they don't have a good pickup truck. : If you want a pickup truck, get a pickup truck. If you want a game : designed for competitive play, get a game designed for competitive play, : don't mangle one and continue to bitch it wasn't designed for it. Because this isn't an all-or-nothing deal. The changes MLG makes to Halo are, in the grand scheme of things, fairly minimal, and certainly much fewer than the changes involved in turning an Accord into a Silverado. These people, the MLG crowd, like Halo. Many of them love Halo. To those who grew up with Halo 1/2/3 it is often their life (and less often their livelihood), and they desperately WANT it to be better-suited for competitive play. If you played Halo 1/2/3 religiously, what do you think is the more reasonable solution: (a) change the movement speed via the custom game controls Bungie gave you for that specific purpose and lobby that future Halo games retain a quicker movement speed, or (b) quit playing Halo entirely and switch to Super Street Fighter II Turbo because you wish the Spartans moved somewhat faster There are more problems with Reach than just the movement speed, but that's the idea. : Please, explain this argument to me. Explain it to me like I'm stupid. You're
