I am such a player, as was my crew of 4 others. We all stopped playing Reach within 3 months of release. I was the last standing, likely due to my emotional connection with Halo and community. Things that I did not like: - Vehicles power. Banshee king. Tank king. - Sniper power, seemed a bit extreme. - K/D ratio driving play styles (capture what flag? I've got k/d to worry about...) - Maps. I liked a few, maybe. Why so few? - Continued devaluation of non-precision weapons - Generally, power weapons seemed too...significant to gameplay outcome - I was (generally) fine with the Armor Abilities - I was fine with bloom The biggest departure for me was the emphasis (via subtle incentive through k/d) on power weapons and vehicles. My niche evaporated. General purpose skirmisher interested in teamwork kind of makes one cannon fodder in Reach. I do not specialize in Banshee, Sniper, or Tank. Free maps won't entice me back because I'm more than slightly pissed that there weren't a bunch available at the start. Alterred gameplay won't entice me back because the crew I used to play with has moved on, as have I. From my point of view, all I care about is that 343i gather whatever data it needs to restore Halo gameplay to something I enjoy. However, I recognize that not everyone can be satisfied. Hence, I will wait and see what H4 has to offer, but will not be jumping back into Reach any time soon.
