In Response To: Fair Trade: Master Chief for Mario? (ElzarTheBam) I wouldn't trust anyone other than the Big N (and Shigeru Miyamoto specifically) to develop a proper Mario title. The core Mario titles from the original Super Mario Bros. to Mario Galaxy 2 are simply masterpieces of gaming, and I doubt the people at Microsoft Game Studios could pull it off. Likewise, Halo just doesn't seem like something up Nintendo's alley. Their experience in developing FPSs is virtually nil (the Metroid Prime series was developed by an outside studio), and their first-party titles aren't exactly known for sci-fi military action like that of Halo. Mario and Halo are their respective company's flagship series, and as such they wouldn't be quite right if they swapped ownership of those IPs. They are iconic and require a special touch that can only be administered by the companies that created them.
