No GPU?

That might be it. The most recent batch of Adobe products (actually, from CS3 onwards) heavily taxes on the GPU. The page you linked me tells me the computer has an on-board GPU, which is terribly underpowered for these products.

Another thing that could be happening is corrupted preference files, font files, etc.
Do you know exactly what happens when it crashes (messages, recurring causes, symptons, etc)?
