In Response To: Re: All this said... (Louis Wu) : Hrm. This seems like a pretty unsatisfying solution - you're suggesting that : if I'm confused because of the mix, that I should limit myself : tremendously. I should pick which of the three gametypes I like the best : (never mind that I might like all three - just because someone gets : confused about playstyles in the different lists, it doesn't mean that the : REASON they're confused is because they dislike one or more of the : styles), and then eat only from that table. If I decide Vanilla Reach is : my favorite, I should simply give up on any 8v8 gametypes, or any types : where precision weapons are dominant. : I was a loud proponent for keeping vanilla reach in matchmaking, because I
Those are all good points. (And for the record, I never said it was a satisfying solution, just that it was an effective one.) I guess I assumed that most people are kind of divided on TU and Vanilla, and so not many cross back and forth. I'm used to dealing with "love TU" or "hate TU" people, and haven't really run into many that are OK with either. For those who like both and switch between them, I can definitely understand the confusion. The whole situation is a mess, there's no getting around that. 343 painted themselves into a corner by promising to always have Vanilla playlist(s). If they change their mind, they will burned at the stake for breaking a promise. If they stick to the plan of having both types, they are burned for causing confusion. I honestly don't know the right answer, I was just offering an effective (though perhaps not satisfying) solution to avoid confusion. At this point, there may be no satisfying solutions.
