In Response To: TU Needle Rifle - it's pretty good *vid* (RC Master) IT'S WORSE! Seriously. Why did anyone at 343i think this would be a good idea? Have they ever heard of the phrases "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" or "Leave well enough alone"? The TU was a waste of time, manpower, and resources, and ultimately did nothing more than completely wreck the balance of Reach's weapon sandbox. 85% bloom completely nullifies what Bungie set out to do when they designed the DMR. I don't always agree with the "it's by design" rationale, but in this case, the DMR (and by extension the needle rifle) as it functions in vanilla Reach is a good design. It's a much less dominating weapon compared to the M6D or BR, yet it also feels consistent and rewarding to use. Reducing the bloom simply brought back a "One Gun to Rule Them All" situation.
