Why does it have to have a sex at all? Why can't it just be a being solely designed to kill/capture Mendicant Bias, which it essentially was? MB was supposed to be this super, all-encompassing AI, and my understanding of OB is that it's a similar construct, but more of a weapon suited for this specific purpose. It's been a while since I read the terminal texts, but IMO, it might help everyone to go back and discuss each of the parts and where they think the characters are coming from (motivation, purpose, place in the universe, etc.)
