some more points:

the game and Content Usage Rules do allow such projects, in theory. That being said, this is still their brand. Our page grew exponentially and our team members grew in huge numbers, including key members of the actual "Halo" franchise. We were really pushing the grey area of fan film content, and we respect their position in protecting their materials.

They may easily spelled their own doom with how 'big' they were taking the project.

Still, at least there's a few other fan projects... Helljumper and Operation Chastity primarily come to mind.
