In Response To: Re: I've got a thought now - how about a bunch? (DHalo) : I think the Precursors meant for the Flood to be revenge and a solution all : wrapped in one. Peace by force, infinite wisdom, and revenge on the : Forerunners. Maybe. lol : Also, I find it funny we still have a huge mystery left from as far back as
Every time Chakas talked to his ghost I thought about how it would appear to the girl. It would appear as if he just started talking (unbidden) to someone who should know what he is talking about. There was always so much assumed context to what 343GS was saying. This is why it fits well, for me. What is the Precursors' motivation? Why create something only to destroy it? To learn, of course. But do they hate strife? No, misery is sweetness. Do they love unity? Maybe, but why create diversity in the first place? Did the Forerunner create a cascade of diversity by somehow diverging for the original Flood oneness, or something crazy like that? Was humanity a party to it? They create and destroy. They deem worthy or unworthy of the mantle. To what end?
