This is exactly my problem with the TU. I simply don't like it. It was a pointless exercise that IMO damages if not outright breaks the Reach sandbox and is quite simply not fun. The only thing I though that needed fixing and required a title update to do so was the Banshee bomb. All my other grievances could be resolved via the already-existing in-game options.

When Bungie released title updates for Halo 2 & 3, they only touched gameplay when they needed to fix things that were broken or problematic, such as melee & grenade damage and certain glitches in H2 and melee tie resolution in H3. 343i, however, saw fit to totally reinvent Reach with December's title update. They didn't do it to fix anything that was broken. They did it because... well, why did they do it? What was the point? Was it the nostalgia factor of a 3sk pistol (totally broken in Reach, far more so than the H1 pistol)? Was it because they felt the DMR wasn't "pro" enough? Apparently, nobody at 343i has ever heard of the phrases "Leave well enough alone" and "If it's not broke, don't fix it." They already have Halo 4 coming out. Why couldn't they wait until then to show off what they think good gameplay is? Why screw around with Reach for no good reason? It pisses me off and it's causing my patience to wear thin. Default Reach already had it's fair share of annoyances, and the TU just makes things three times worse.
