In Response To: Re: Just awful. (Phoenix_9286) : You write off Automatic weapons like they're some sort of inferior form of : combat, yet many of the most interesting battles I ever had were in Combat : Evolved, where the Assault Rifle was always a starting weapon, and the : Pistol was treated like a sidearm, not a hand cannon. I'm not sure I follow... the pistol was a hand-cannon in the first game, and to not treat it as one would be to make yourself an easier target. : There's room for BOTH in the game, and when Reach launched that was the
I've seen people reduce close-quarters combat to very simple terms too, something like "frantically squeeze the trigger until someone is dead, lather, rinse, repeat". : Four shot kills do nothing for me. I could not care less about how few bullets

that you didn't get lucky and have them die just before you did, that you really beat them. Also when you walk away with a sliver of health left you're more likely to die to the next guy that comes along if you're not right next to a health pack, so I'd prefer to keep my health. I get the tense, what's-going-to-happen, victory-by-a-slim-margin thing, but you can get that in a lot of ways, mid-range battles can be tense, and many people prefer it in other ways. : I wish you, and proponents of DMR/BR/One Weapon To Rule Them All/Less Bloom
a lot of people with that kind of viewpoint do recognize that, and a lot of them don't want a "one weapon to rule them all" scenario, and to me it looks like you just dismissed a different play style, and of course the whole argument is that there isn't room for both... then again maybe I'm wrong and that isn't hypocrisy (I don't mean to single you out, I've seen this several times now, it's just the first time it clicked for me what seems to be going on)
