So basically all the power weapons, and you'll dump whatever your secondary is and keep the DMR. How is this different from Halo 3 where it was BR 24/7? My argument isn't that the DMR sucks, or that the DMR is overpowered, or that ARs are better. My argument is that it should NOT be the One Weapon To Rule Them All. That's what the BR was in Halo 3. That's what the DMR has now become post TU. Yes, you're right. With TU enabled you can tear someone up in close quarters with an AR. But who the hell is ever going to do that? They'll all have DMRs. You talk about how it's still not meant to be used at close range, yet I'm regularly engaged in DMR battles across no more than 30 feet. That's close range. That's a return to the garbage that was constant in Halo 3.

Reach launched really well with respect to the DMR. It had it's place. And then Bungie started devoting gametypes to it, and making it a starting weapon across playlists, and 343i has only continued the backwards trend of giving the masses something they shouldn't.

Rifles are fine. Rifles are good. I don't have a single problem with using a DMR. My problem is that the clearly defined line between when you should use it, and when you should switch over to that AR on your back, a line that was clear as day when the game launched, has entirely vanished at this point. We're back where we started, and that's not what was intended.
