(SoundEffect)) : There'd be so much backsplash light from the sun hitting the other 3/4 of the : inner surface that you'd have plenty of daylight around. You couldn't make : it dark in there. I think with a big enough space you could. There would always be a warm glow in the sky, but since the surface area is the same size as the Earth's orbit, you wouldn't really be able to see the rest of the inner sphere from any given point in the Shield World (except, perhaps, from sections void of atmosphere). I always kind of pictured a massive inner ring that would encircle the "sun" and create an artificial day/night cycle as it rotated. The Halo Wars "shield world" is a whole different story however..
