I cared about all : of them except for Carter, because Carter is acted monotonously throughout : the entire game, and probably has the lamest death sequence (suddenly hurt : out of nowhere, flies pelican into scarab) Disagree. It's pretty clear that the Banshee chasing them shoots directly into the cargo bay and the plasma pierces him in the pilot seat. Clear to me at least. Maybe they should have shown that more... add a big glowing hole in the back of the pilot seat, show the viewer exactly how bad it is. : As a player you have, canonically though you have not. Bungie actually : establishes this well between Reach, 2, and 3: in Reach, Scarabs are just : being deployed, so everyone just runs like hell when they're encountered. : The Brutes have crap armor and are chaperoned by Elites. In 2 they've : practiced against the Scarabs in simulation and now know how to take them : down. By 3 Chief is now familiar with them enough (and has Arbiter : assisting) that they don't need to corner them anymore and can just mount : and explode them (ignoring the moving BSP -> actual AI engine support). : By 2 the Brutes have more weapons and are gaining position, and by 3 they : have their own suite of power armor. : In short what I'm saying here is that it made sense for there to be a : desperate method of taking a Scarab out in Reach but become more tactical : later on. It indicates an adapting UNSC. It goes in line with other : changes where the Covenant had development and progression as well. The : scarab battle has been played out, so I'm glad they just didn't recycle it : for Reach. Especially since Reach has no Scarab AI anyway. YES. I just said something similar. Thank god, there are others.
